Full Job Description

In this role you will co-ordinate the implementation of asylum dispersal and contingency accommodation, acting as the main point of contact within the Resettlement Team for a range of internal and external stakeholders responsible for and supporting the delivery of asylum services across Westmorland and Furness, to ensure the approach to asylum seekers is integrated with the wider work to respond to other resettlement and evacuee schemes to support successful longer term integration goals of the host communities and migrants themselves., We are currently operating both in-person and virtual interviews. Options will be discussed with candidates once they have been invited to the interview stage of the process for this specific position, and if you have any concerns or adjustments are needed, we are happy to discuss.
If you are invited to a virtual interview, this will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software, which is currently free for new users, however if there are any issues with accessing this technology, we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.

The role will be demanding yet rewarding and will require a flexible person who also has a good understanding of the reasons that lead to asylum status, they must be understanding to the cultural needs of the service user. It is an opportunity to join an exciting and dynamic team and programme which is continually evolving alongside international developments.
Candidates will have relevant experience of working in the refugee or asylum sector and must hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 and have knowledge of government policy around asylum including experience of safeguarding practices and procedures.
You will have the ability to work under pressure and in a flexible and responsive way, you must be politically aware and have the ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities.
