This role will be based at our Maxim office with some occasional travel to Hinkley Point in Bridgwater. We also have a flexible working approach.
What you'll be doing
As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will have the following accountabilities.
- Cost assurance
- Assisting in production of financials including management accounts, balance
- Assist in timely and accurate reporting to Head Office adhering to timelines
- Comparing Actual to Budget and latest Forecast according to processes and using
- Assist in the annual budget cycle including liaison with Operational and Commercial
- Assist in the periodic audit process liaising with respective Commercial
- Support the cost verification process of projects for Joint Venture teams ensuring
- Assist in identifying potential disallowed cost issues on joint ventures.
- Assist in production of VAT return and stand in when required for Senior
- Assist in liaising with teams in Newcastle to ensure all statutory and governance
- A strong academic background. Fully qualified accounting professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CA)
- Relevant experience gained within a contracting/project environment is preferable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to command respect at all
