About the Opportunity

Within the next 10 years, our water sector clients' capital programmes will increase by a factor of 2-3. Driven by increased demand for improved environmental performance and future water scarcity, our water clients need to deliver very large, and often complex investments. Within the Northeast, our teams are mobilising within multi-organisation enterprises, taking the lead in the optimisation of our client's plans to maximise efficiency and deliver increased social and environmental value.

We have an extremely exciting role available for the right individual. We are looking for a senior, experienced Asset Planning/Programme Optimisation Lead, with an asset management background, who will lead our team in identifying and delivering programme level optimisation on a multi-billion pound investment portfolio. The individual will work extensively with our client's asset management teams, understanding needs, developing strong relationships, and providing strategic and tactical advice and influence.

In addition to this, the individual will work with our Technical Delivery Teams, project and programme managers within a collaborative enterprise environment. The individual will lead innovation within our programmes of work, identifying programmatic solutions, developing approaches to triaging incoming projects and developing strategies for the creation and management of benefits.

Responsibilities

We are looking for senior leader leaders, experienced in asset management and project delivery with excellent communication and client management skills. Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the client asset management team to identify AMP8 programme, understand the needs and transition work into our technical teams

  • Collaborate with other enterprise delivery partners to develop effective ways of working.

  • Leading optimisation of a £multi-billion programme, identifying opportunities to outperform on time, cost and quality.

  • Influence enterprise teams to deliver financial and non-financial benefits (e.g. social value, carbon and biodiversity net gain).

  • Leading our programme triage, identifying and fast-tracking programmes of work into appropriate delivery streams, and quickly identifying project opportunities.

  • Leading our technical teams in the development of strategies and tactical plans to achieve programme benefit.

  • Leading enterprise transformation work packages, drawing on your personal knowledge and experience of what supports successful enterprise delivery.

  • Providing leadership and innovation to our clients and enterprise participants, challenging behaviours and culture, identifying and overcoming blockers, and showing vision and passion for change.

  • Embracing and role-modelling ways of working with colleagues that are collaborative, inclusive and demonstrate commitment to success through mutual gain.

  • Sharing best practice across the wider Jacobs business

  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues to support embedding collaborative values and behaviours.

  • Supporting our leadership team and delivering health, safety and wellbeing excellence in everything we do.
