Full Job Description

As an Apprentice SHEQ Advisor, you will learn how to understand and implement strategies to ensure compliance with regulations, mitigate risks, and maintain high-quality standards throughout civil engineering projects. You will learn to collaborate closely with project teams, offering guidance to integrate safety, health, environmental, and quality considerations into project planning and execution. This apprenticeship will equip you with the knowledge and practical experience to become a key contributor in maintaining a safe, healthy, environmentally conscious, and quality-focused work environment, playing a vital role in the overall success of projects., Your responsibilities will increase throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme as your skills and technical knowledge develop. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.

  • Supporting the implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality procedures.

  • Collaborating with team to support audits on behalf of the business for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and other applicable standards.

  • Assisting the team with developing and implementing strategies for improving workplace safety and environmental performance.

  • Assisting with the identification of gaps for improvement.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

    This is an Advance/Higher Level 3 Health, Safety, Environment & Quality apprenticeship. You will be working towards Safety Health and Environment at SHE Compliancy Limited on a day release over a period of 2 years. Once you have completed the level 3, you will then start working towards a NEBOSH or IOSH Level 6 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety. We will also support you in gaining professional membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).


  • Entry Requirements

    Our minimum qualification requirement includes obtaining at least 5 GCSEs passes, including grades 6 or above in both Mathematics and English, and 3 A' levels.

    As our projects are spread across different locations, your work base will be flexible, and travel may be required to various project sites. It's therefore important to have a positive and flexible approach towards travel.

  • Full Driving Licence, Have you or will you be obtaining at least 5 GCSEs passes, including grades 6 or above in both Mathematics and English, and 3 A' levels?
