Full Job Description

This Apprenticeship is the perfect starting point for an individual who is looking to get into the butchery industry. You will work with a highly reputable and knowledgeable butcher to develop a wide skillset to ensure you can kick start your career in this exciting industry.

The job will comprise of learning a full range of butchery skills and duties will include:

  • Preparing and cutting carcases


  • Preparing and cutting specific joints/cuts of meat


  • Making sausages/gammons/burgers/ready meals


  • Assisting with counter display/setup/clear down


  • Serving/greeting customers


  • Gathering/packing for deliveries/orders


  • Freezer/fridge stock control

    Apprentices must achieve Level 2 Food Safety Award, Level 2 Health & Safety in the Food Supply Chain Award, and Level 2 Knife Skills Award prior to taking the end-point assessment

  • Delivery method and location of training to be confirmed, Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Logical, Team working, Patience, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Math's (Grade 4) Essential
