Full Job Description

You will receive development and support from a senior nursing team consisting of a ward manager and two Clinical Practice Educator. We offer a Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified nurses, and the trust has a strong emphasis on staff support and development

The Short Stay Unit is a 48 bedded Unit which specialises in prioritising and delivering first line treatments and care to stabilise acutely ill patients prior to discharging home in a safe, prompt and timely manner.

Although The Short Stay Unit is a very busy and demanding department, it offers a wide variety of acute medical conditions across the ages within adult nursing. The Unit is fully supported by all members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver care that at all times is outstanding.

AMSS also gives staff the opportunity to self roster to offer our staff shift flexibility and choice.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of nursing care that meets the individual needs of our patients and those of the Trust

The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care that puts patients at the centre of this approach.

The post holder will be expected to have the required management and facilitation skills that allows them to supervise the activity of other staff in the clinical setting, promote multi-disciplinary working and facilitate a supportive and learning environment.

The post holder may, on occasions, be required to assume responsibility for the ward / department in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse

As a Registered Nurse the post holder is expected to consistently act in accordance with the NMC Code
