Full Job Description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of brain injury survivors? Join our team as an Activity Coordinator at Headway Kent's Community Hubs.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering and evolving enriching activities for our clients within our vibrant Community Hubs. You'll provide essential support to individuals with complex needs, focusing on their recovery, wellbeing, and independence while honouring their autonomy.

Our Community Hubs serve as the beating heart of our organisation, offering a welcoming and lively environment where clients can feel safe, express themselves, and cultivate the skills needed for sustained independence. As the Activity Coordinator, you'll unleash your creativity, initiative, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills to inspire and engage individuals in meaningful activities that foster recovery and social integration.

We're seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and IT-literate individual with a can-do attitude and a proven track record of effectively supporting vulnerable individuals in both group and one-on-one settings. Excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and flexibility are essential, as is the ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in Excel and Office is a must.

If you're ready to make a difference and meet these qualifications, we want to hear from you. Could you be the perfect fit for our team?

Tasks and Responsibilities

1. To work with individuals/family/carers and professionals to generate personalised 'support plans' that reflect the needs and wants of individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and assist in their rehabilitation and independence.

2. To organise activity programmes that reflect the identified needs of individuals with ABI.

3. To be responsible for ensuring that activities are safely delivered, and that health and safety policy is adhered to.

4. To ensure the safety of all clients by completing accurate risk assessments and by following safeguarding procedures when necessary.

5. To attend meetings and co-ordinate the incoming referrals for support planning and activity programmes.

6. To sign post to other organisations or agencies, that may benefit the rehabilitation or independence of individuals with ABI.

7. To develop programmes of work/activities that support the rehabilitation of those with ABI.

8. To keep accurate and timely records of all client's outcomes, both written and on Headway Kent's database as required.

9. To write department reports as required.

10. To attend regular supervision sessions with manager and attend staff meetings.

11. To promote enablement and independence as one of the key themes of our service.

12. Other duties as required by line manager.

Due to the nature of the role and organisation, it is a requirement of the post to have a full, clean driving licence and access to a car.

We are Headway Kent, where we specialise in providing enablement activities tailored for adults with acquired brain injuries (ABI). Our mission is to deliver person-centred social rehabilitation within the community, supporting individuals along their recovery journey in mental, physical, educational, and economic aspects. We also focus on alleviating social isolation and loneliness often experienced post-ABI. Our diverse range of activities is designed to align with personal goals and outcomes, ensuring a holistic approach to rehabilitation and empowerment.
