Full Job Description

  • To take responsibility for implementing and overseeing ICP plans, curriculum plans which ensure that each child is working towards desirable early learning goals; to monitor the effectiveness of the groups' SEND Support and Speech and Language Support in our Nursery curriculum, supporting the setting visions.

  • To consult with parents and if necessary, organise a transition meeting with any outside agencies that are involved with the child/children.

  • To support investigations into children's individual needs and assess whether additional training for staff, equipment or resources or possibly apply for Early Years access support funding for a 1:1 support worker is required upon entry into each setting.

  • To contribute to and implement all Blackberries policies and procedures, especially those on: SEND, Phonics and Speech and Language.

  • To ensure that Jump Up Days are organised, and Child Transitions are completed considering the individual needs of the child.

  • To ensure all SEND Child files are Tracked and prepared for assessment on a termly basis.

  • To compile Behaviour Plans and Charts to support manage effectively children's behaviour. To set Risk assessments to support challenging behaviour to ensure staff are working simultaneously together with parents.

  • To support and implement ICP and IEP targets and communicate effectively with key practitioners.

  • To gather data, records, observations for the purpose of applications under EYASF and EHCP.

  • To liaise with Setting Managers and Funding Coordinator to ensure funding is utilised effectively and DAF Funding is in place where applicable supported by relevant documentation.

  • To support to ensure all key Child files are Tracked and prepared for assessment on a termly basis under the Quality Monitoring Policy. To provide staff feedback and set targets where required.

  • To ensure all Child "Getting to Know You" documents are regularly updated and shared to support Transition documents liaising closely with parents. To provide supporting Health Care Plans where required and updated Allergy documentation for all children within Units to include other documentation as required to support children's Nursery care.

  • To support the SEN team with regards the organisation of staff meetings and those meetings necessary with outside professionals and use Microsoft Team/ Zoom to facilitate remote meetings.

  • To attend in-service training and meetings as required and to co-ordinate in-service training and meetings as required and use Microsoft Team/ Zoom to facilitate remote meetings.
