Job summary: to be part of a friendly team to welcome, process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition. To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Strong IT skills and able to learn and manage care pathways.

Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system

Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments

Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers' request appropriately

Signpost patients to the correct service

Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies,

Clinically code data on SystmOne

Process referrals in a timely manner (via ERS), liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies

Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required

Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary

Taking minutes for practice meetings and keep registers up to date

Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors' letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team

Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

Carry out system searches as requested

Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

Support all clinical staff with general and secretarial tasks as requested

Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences

Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary

Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records

Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

As required support the clinicians in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

Order and monitor stationery supplies

Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patient's medical history

Support with secretarial work
