Full Job Description

Working closely with the management team, the successful candidate will ensure our high standard of quality is met throughout our "Learn to Swim" (LTS) programme while achieving performance indicators and financial targets to meet deadlines. They will be teachers themselves, delivering sessions as part of the role. They will share our vision of offering the best quality and most organised learner experience possible.

We are looking for someone who can efficiently organise a team and use their initiative to identify problems and work around them. The key parts of the role involve directly managing a team of up to 15 swimming teachers, including recruitment, observation, quality assurance, rotas and cover, staff development, and training.

Liaising with Duty Managers regarding staffing and timetable solutions, maintaining our relationship with Swim England and working to their framework, organising and helping deliver school swimming, helping develop and manage relationships with swimming clubs, and regular contact and monthly meetings with the General Manager will be ongoing within the role.

Managing the software from which we operate our service and liaising with parents to move children or resolve problems are also critical parts of the role. This would also include building relationships with our administration team. The successful candidate should be competent on computers and easy to communicate with. An eye for detail is vital, and an application that wants to complete tasks efficiently would be an ideal attribute. This position needs an organised person who is good at communicating with others.

Ideally, you will have a leisure background. A recognised Swimming Teacher Level 2 qualification is essential. An NPLQ qualification and additional industry qualifications are desirable.

Writhlington Trust, trading as Dragonfly Leisure was established in 2002 as a not for profit charitable trust. Highly motivated, experienced, well trained and quality driven staff are the back-bone of our success.

As a not for profit trust we have no shareholders to pay and surplus income is reinvested directly into our centres to provide an improved leisure service and experience for local communities.

Our board of trustees is independent and voluntary. They are highly experienced with skills drawn from both the public and private sector.
