Jenny's provides day opportunities and short term breaks for adults with learning difficulties and/or autism. Jenny's House has overall GOOD and GOOD in every area from the Care Quality Commission.
With two centres based in the heart of Clacton on Sea, the ethos at Jenny's (Jenny's Resource Centre and Jenny's House) is to provide a person-centred care and support package that enables individuals to live the life they choose, within their community.
Our team work in a friendly, inviting, inclusive atmosphere and quite often take part in very enjoyable activities with our service users which existing staff find very rewarding.

Due to additional service users we are looking to recruit additional flexible support workers at Jenny's House. An opportunity has arisen for a responsible, reliable and friendly support worker to join the staff team at Jenny's. Our expectation is that as this is a Full Time position and you would be expected to work a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts will be agreed 4 weekly in advance and will be a combination of days and weekends.

Overtime will be available.

Candidates must have a strong work ethic and be able to act on their own initiative. The successful candidate will have experience in working with people with disabilities and a passion for providing person-centred support.

The requirements of the role include, but may not be limited to:

-Supporting individuals in the community and engaging individuals in activities

-Supporting individuals with their routines

-Providing support with personal care tasks such as washing, eating, dressing and toileting

-Offering support with the safe movement or transferring of a person, using a hoist for example

-Overseeing and supporting with medication administration, including via PEG

A driving license with capability of driving a manual vehicle is essential.
-NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification is desirable, the expectation if the candidate does not have this qualification they will work towards it in the first year.
-Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a care, either paid or voluntary
-Experience in supporting with medication desirable
-Experience of working with people with a range of disabilities
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
-Subject to an enhanced DBS check
-Full training will be provided

Salary: £12.00 per hour. Any hours before 8am, after 4:30pm and weekends are paid at £12.93.
