Full Job Description

To carry out supplier service management on a day to day basis, optimising supplier performance across the portfolio. Identifying and driving cost savings, cost avoidance and service improvement which ultimately contributes to maximising service quality across ITSS. Mitigating and managing risks associated to suppliers and licence management.

  • Manage the operational delivery of service from nominated small-medium portfolio of suppliers in accordance with supplier service agreements and within the boundaries of the appropriate opex budget

  • Manage and report on cost centre performance, highlighting any potential financial risks and opportunities

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for cost saving, efficiencies and service improvements. Making recommendations to SDMs and Licence Manager, including proposals for implementation

  • Across the team, manage the SSM Risk Process. Raising, managing (or delegating/assigning) and reporting on supplier related or supplier initiated risks & issues

  • Developing and then maintaining the ITSS supplier Peer to Peer matrix, checking that the correct peer meetings are taking place with suppliers and that the correct outputs are obtained. For some processes, be the SDM representative in these Peer meetings

  • Manage renewal process for nominated suppliers, providing governance so that the service contract renewals are started on time, the right validations are carried out and that NSC support is request in a timely manner ahead of renewal date

  • Support the Licence Manager in undertaking licence compliance assessments and working with internal and external teams to mitigate the risk of non-compliance

  • Acting on information from the SW Licence tool to look at opportunity to re harvest or relinquish unused software, or to address any compliance issues reported by the tool

  • Responsible for developing and then maintaining team KPI dashboard and publishing relevant reports and MI as requested

  • Deputising for SDMs as required

    Essential

  • Experience of operational IT management

  • Proven track record of delivering Service Improvements

  • Experience in managing and mitigating service risk

  • Understanding of budgets pertaining to supplier services


  • Desirable
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles

  • Knowledge of end-to-end service delivery models

  • Experience using MS excel
