Security Officer

As an exciting, dynamic and people focused medium sized business, we have a new and exciting opportunity for someone to join our customer focused team at Lakeside Village, Doncaster. We are looking for an experienced Security Officer to join the team on site. Your shift pattern will be discussed at the interview, with a pay rate of £12.50 per hour, which is above the Real Living Wage.

As a highly focused team member, you will report into the Security Manager, and they will work with you to make sure that not only are you empowered to deliver the very best levels of customer experiences, but also to help you in improving your skill base, through a wide range of training initiatives we have in place.

Main Duties

When dealing with members of the public or our client, their visitors, the tenants, and other stakeholders, you will show a welcoming and friendly manner whilst making sure that the appropriate level of site security is always maintained and enhanced where possible.

As the first point of contact to all customers, our security staff must have a good level of understanding and appreciation of their surroundings. Sometimes you will be an ambassador, a guide, a helper, or an expert in the local area. As a trusted employee, you are often the only person that represents who we are and what our clients do!, You will be required to patrol the exterior of the outlet, liaising with visitors and tenants alike and duties will include but are not limited to:

· site patrols

· dealing, and responding to incidents

· completing any necessary paperwork & reports

You must be confident in speaking on the phone / radio and responding to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner.

You should have at least 1-year previous security experience and you must also hold a valid SIA licence (CCTV an advantage)

As a member of our valued security team, you must be able to spot and stop all suspicious or potential criminal activity, you must retain full control of the situation until the arrival of other colleagues and / or the emergency services and you must be confident to be being in control.

Excellent customer service skills are a must, as is being a great communicator along with confidence in dealing with the public. A smart appearance and strong attention to detail are important along with the ability to use your own initiative., Our security team members need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude. A reasonable level of fitness is required, as you will spend a majority of your shift on your feet patrolling the outlet.

Security experience required. We want to grow your experience and develop you further!

We need a flexible approach to work; we don't offer a simple 9 to 5 role, as various shifts are available through the operation of the outlet.

You need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be confident in talking, explaining, and instructing a range of topics, together with the need to be assertive in emergency situations.

It is important all our security staff are calm under pressure.

You need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and also Criminal Evidence Act.
