Full Job Description

As the Security Manager at Brindleyplace, your role encompasses a multifaceted approach to ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operations of our expansive estate. With a keen focus on maintaining high standards, you will exercise oversight and control over the entire security team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Your responsibilities extend beyond traditional security measures to also include providing on-site advice on physical security matters and incident management investigations. Rigorous risk assessments and meticulous record-keeping of accidents and incidents are essential components of your role, contributing to the overall safety protocols.

In addition to safeguarding the physical security of the estate, you will provide comprehensive support to on-site management, including administrative functions and confidentiality management. Building and nurturing positive relationships with tenants and internal teams is crucial, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to effective security measures.

Your flexibility in working various shifts ensures comprehensive coverage, while your attention to detail in managing tenant files and upholding GDPR regulations, particularly in CCTV operations, demonstrates a commitment to compliance and excellence.

Main Duties:

  • Exercise oversight and control over the entire security team, ensuring smooth operations and continued high levels of security standards throughout the Estate

  • Provision of on-site advice regarding physical security matters including incident management investigation

  • Ensure thorough and appropriate risk assessments are conducted and followed by on-site staff

  • Methodically record and upload all accidents and incidents onto the internal system, maintaining accurate records

  • Provide comprehensive support to on-site management, encompassing office and admin functions

  • Uphold stringent levels of confidentiality concerning tenants, customers, and sensitive data

  • Foster and sustain positive working relationships with tenants and internal teams

  • Regularly update and manage the shared drive with essential security reports and information

  • Fulfil miscellaneous duties as required by the management or estate manager, contributing to general service excellence

  • Flexibly work a combination of day, night, and weekend shifts in alignment with team schedules

  • Manage tenant files meticulously, ensuring they are up to date and compliant with security standards

  • Guarantee adherence to GDPR regulations across the estate, particularly in CCTV operations

  • Coordinate uniform orders for staff and oversee their distribution upon arrival, ensuring consistency

  • Support the Estate Manager and team in the generation of service charge budgets, contributing insights and expertise

  • Handle invoicing queries and billing discrepancies promptly and effectively for the security team, ensuring financial integrity

    A bachelor's degree or BTEC level 5 in a security discipline, or equivalent in facilities management, business administration, or a related field

  • At least 10 years of experience in managing complex security services, preferably in a large and complex organisation

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams and stakeholders

  • Sound understanding of how to lead, grow, develop, and motivate teams

  • Excellence in customer service

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
