Full Job Description

Larches High School is a Pupil Referral Unit / Medical school based in the centre of Preston and the Governors are looking to recruit for a Science TA 3 to join our successful team.

Larches High School delivers education provision for up to 125 children from the Preston area currently not in mainstream education. The personal relationships developed with our pupils ensure that each one achieves their potential both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Science department teaching staff in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the effectiveness of the curriculum for pupils and to differentiate curriculum content according to the needs of pupils.

You will work to support the delivery of Science lessons across the Key Stages, working under the guidance of the Science teachers which may include:-

  • Preparation of materials

  • Setting up the Science classroom prior to practical lessons

  • Assembling and cleaning equipment

  • Maintaining equipment to ensure it is safe for student use

  • Photocopying teaching resources

  • Any other relevant duties You will also be required to monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, support behaviour, deliver interventions and establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.

    This post is term time only plus one week, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
