Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be supporting the work of the public health team in Sunderland City Council. The content of the role will develop throughout the 3-year apprenticeship as knowledge and skills are acquired. Examples of the activities the post holder will undertake in the first year include:

  • Supporting a variety of public health programmes covering a range of topics such as alcohol, tobacco, obesity, immunisation, mental health with a specific focus on reducing health inequalities.

  • Supporting engagement events across the borough in both the work place and community setting in order to promote health and wellbeing.

  • Supporting key national, regional, and local public health campaigns working with a range of local organisations and groups ensuring consistent communication and providing a variety of resources.

    In order to apply you must not be educated to degree level or above in any subject.

  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points or equivalent (obtained or predicted)
