Full Job Description

The Product Test & Quality Engineer's role will be establishing test standards for all products for key markets. The right candidate will ensure the standards are easy to follow and will be the single point of contact for all test related questions for any product. They will also check work conducted by the product development team and B+P manufacturing partners, to ensure the tests have been conducted as required.

Assisting the Senior Quality Engineer with key work including, quality process plans, quality checking and sign-off, acceptance criteria documents, customer services enquiries, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing test standards for all products for key markets.

  • Uploading of the test standards documentation to the company database.

  • Ensuring the standards are easy to follow and be the single point of contact for all test related questions for any product.

  • Be hands-on and conduct some tests (where possible) in the workshop.

  • Maintaining test and quality documentation in a professional manner.

  • Support the product development team with NPI and current projects, and ongoing compliance work, where required.

  • Checking test work has been conducted to the correct test & quality standards.

  • Assist in the quality process plan, and make improvements / updates

  • Assist in creating, monitoring quality documentations e.g. limit documents.

  • Support compliance work, whenever required.

  • Performing additional ad-hoc product engineering associated tasks and activities as delegated by the line management, not included in above.

  • Some understanding or exposure to test standards and quality process plans required, ideally for electrical products.

  • Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years working in similar roles.

  • Some experience in managing product (test & quality) documentation.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office package including SharePoint.

  • Some understanding of business process improvement.


  • Advantageous
  • Awareness of international and industry standard safety regulations.

  • Experience working with lighting, lighting controls, AC power outlets, DC voltage chargers, or (an) other consumer electronic product(s).

  • Some experience or awareness of certifying electrical product to global markets (CE/UKCA, CB, UL/ETL).

  • Foreign language skills (Mandarin and/or European), Degree in relevant field preferred, or professional qualifications.

  • Member of Professional Engineering institution, product testing: 2 years (preferred)
