Full Job Description

To deliver H&S Consultancy services from our Central London office to existing and new clients. To ensure that all business management KPI's, including both financial and commission management targets, are met. All in accordance with Turner & Townsend business, corporate and financial management systems.

The key requirements of the role are:

  • Understand Clients' needs, proactively identify solutions to their challenges and ensure consistent delivery of H&S excellence in meeting their needs and expectations.

  • Identify and develop new opportunities with existing clients (on-sell and up-sell) and support the winning of new work by contributing to tender submissions and tender interviews.

  • Build strong working relationships within the SHQ team and across the wider T&T business in London and wider.

  • Manage projects to ensure profitability and compliance with Turner & Townsend management systems


  • The scope of services delivered by the role-holder are flexible, dependent upon the Client's requirements covering both CDM and H&S management; and could include:
  • Delivering CDM Consultancy for our varied clients to support them in delivering their duties - this could be as PD and/or CDMA or wider.

  • Overseeing construction project / programme H&S - which could, for example, be as Site H&S Advisor or setting the project H&S Strategy, Policies and Processes

  • Carrying out H&S performance / management diagnostic 'gap analysis' reviews, audits, etc., for clients (e.g. of their own operations or their projects or their supplier activities).

  • Developing Client H&S continual improvement programmes & overseeing their effective delivery

  • Establishing positive relations with existing Clients to gain their confidence and become the focal point for communication

  • Representing Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner (both personally and technically) including meeting, negotiating and corresponding appropriately with Clients' Management

  • Undertake duties as required in identifying and delivering new opportunities and business in the region

  • Liaise, proactively and professionally, with SHQ, and wider Turner & Townsend, colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness, support others as needed and ensure consistency, quality and profitability of shared projects

  • Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines with disciplined ability to work unsupervised

  • Good IT skills and competence in Microsoft Office suite to generate own reports and documents

  • Proven experience as a CDM Principal Designer

  • Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors desired but must have construction site H&S experience

  • Membership at some level of the Association of Project Safety;

  • GradIOSH (or TechIOSH - if actively working towards GradIOSH)
