Full Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Operations Team Leader and forming part of a focussed GH Plant Operations Team the successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of mobile plant operating. The individual must be able work as part of a team to deliver and service an efficient building and walling stone production facility. In addition, support other activities as required where mobile plant is necessary. The person will ideally have a proven work history in quarrying operations and understands / adopts all health, safety and environmental practises and requirements. The person must be able to identify, manage and mitigate risks and contribute effectively so that the overall operation runs efficiently, seamlessly, and safely.

The role will suit a proactive and flexible machine operator with a strong work ethic that wants to work as part of a small team.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Operating all company Mobile Plant and performing the "work" to the highest standard, safety and efficiency.

  • Mobile Plant - Excavators, Excavator & breaker, Articulated Dump Trucks, Loading Shovels and Telehandlers.

  • Completing daily inspections and supplying copies to the manager or office.

  • Making sure that operated mobile plant is parked and isolated when not in use, with keys stored in the defined safe location.

  • Making sure the products produced (specifically Broke Stone) is of a good quality to enable a high yield of our end products by the stone croppers.

  • Raising any HSE concerns to your line manager or management team

  • Any other tasks as requested by your line manager.

  • Ability to tolerate noisy, dirty, and uncomfortable working environments.

    £30,160 - £39,520 a year - Permanent, Full-time, Hours: 40hrs (7am - 4pm, with 2 x 30min un-paid breaks)


  • Extra hrs potentially required

    Rate: Dependant on experience
