Full Job Description

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Head of Programme Delivery to join us at an exciting time in the modernisation of our tech landscape. This is a crucial role responsible for the running and delivery of the Apollo Programme; one of the most significant change programmes our business has undergone. The Apollo Programme is a key enabler for Aldermore's strategic objectives by delivering a new, modern & progressive cloud-based banking platform that utilises data as an asset to help build a better tomorrow for our Customer, Colleagues and Shareholders.

You'll report into the Transformation Director and be a part of our extended leadership team. You will lead a team of experienced Project Managers and Delivery Leads and provide leadership and direction and oversight of 10 + squads working on the Apollo programme.

What will your day look like?

  • Management of a critical strategic programmes (> £20m spend)

  • Working with the Accountable Executive and CTIO Leadership team, ensure effective oversight, including of the Programme Steering Committee

  • Working with all business units to ensure connectivity and dependency management of the Apollo roadmap with their change agendas, and any required preparations for business readiness

  • Working with the Transformation Management Office (TMO), take accountability for the compliance to the minimum standards for Change Governance, such as tracking and reporting on the programme (benefit realisation, financials, milestones, risks etc) through to Steering, ExCo, and Board as required

  • Own the programme level change backlog and prioritisation process

  • Drive effective and expedient decision taking by ensuring options, risks and issues are documented, understood and considered by all relevant stakeholders

  • Building relationships across the team and supporting team morale and engagement

    Proven experience in a similar Head of Programme Delivery roles - with a track record of successfully delivering complex transformation programmes, ideally within financial services

  • You will have worked in a regulated environment and have experience in preparing content and engaging with the regulator

  • Strong commercial awareness and experience of managing budgets and resource utilisation

  • Experienced working with agile squads, and ensuring a disciplined agile approach to comply with minimum standards for Change Governance

  • Experienced people leader who can develop and build high performing teams underneath them within a matrixed environment

  • Have high emotional intelligence and able to engage multiple stakeholders effectively, inspire confidence up to Board and Exec level as well as the broader business and your team
