Full Job Description

The role of General Manager is vital for ensuring that our strong Global reputation is maintained in the marketplace via ownership, leadership and innovation.

As the General Manager at our Bradford site, it will be your responsibility to:

  • Develop and maximize a safe, service driven, max profit, lean cost centre of excellence.

  • Development of the site to meet current and future business requirements.

  • To effectively run the depot and achieve and maximise agreed budgeted EBITA .

  • Actively pursue any opportunities to improve quality of process, standard of goods and enhance efficiency on site.

  • Responsible for the management and development of site personnel through the management and supervisory structure in place at site.

  • Manage people through effective appraisals, training and where necessary determine and enforce discipline and grievance policies.

  • Full compliance with Brenntag UK & Irelands key policy and procedures including effective safety reporting

  • To attend and/ or lead the Customer Complaints meetings and ensure any related / agreed corrective actions are carried out in an effective and timely manner.

  • Organize, Coordinate, delegate as appropriate duties and tasks pertaining to the day-to-day activities on site at Bradford.

    Strong Leadership background with appropriate level of experience.

  • Demonstrable Lean Methodology competence or awareness.

  • Working towards or member of appropriate professional body .

  • Degree or similar in Business, Marketing, Chemistry or related subjects or achieved or working toward recognised management qualification (CMI, ILM etc)

  • IOSH- Foundation Safety Qualification with equivalent experience.

  • Process Safety / Behavioural Safety Qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Leadership experience in a highly regulated operation.

  • Thriving under pressure, at ease in a fast-paced environment.

  • Enthusiastic towards change and under agile and fast-evolving circumstances.

  • Good strategic decision-making as well as firm and swift decision-making when required.

  • Driven to success, self-motivated and pro-actively engaging stakeholders towards achieving end result.

  • Knowledge of new and legacy existing systems, Mfour, Lotus Notes, SAP, Microsoft Office etc is desirable .

  • Capable of communicating well with all interfaces and relationships at all levels.

  • Full driving licence.
