Full Job Description

As a Carers Connect Outreach Worker your main responsibilities will be to focus on eliminating social isolation and loneliness for carers. This will also include facilitating group activities, information and support to carers who are looking after a relative, partner, friend or neighbour of someone who needs help due to illness, disability, mental health or old age.

If you're caring, compassionate, and possess a variety of life skills and experiences, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact in your community.

The successful candidate will have great communication and organisational skills and be able to provide solution focused support to carers and their families.

The role involves travelling and a driving licence and access to a car is required, to be considered for the post.

Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre was established in 2010 and is a registered Charity.

We are a small, friendly and supportive team dedicated to providing services and support to unpaid / family carers of all ages, across the Wigan Borough. Offering a wide range of services including health and wellbeing activities, carer's assessments, respite care, form filling, befriending and much more. We are supported by Wigan Council and work closely with colleagues across the Borough from the voluntary and community sector, NHS, and local authority.
