Full Job Description

We are looking for an energetic Warehouse Supervisor or Manager to join our team and help us manage our warehouse operation. The Warehouse Supervisor / Manager role is crucial to our success in ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to feed the production schedule and customer demand.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a successful warehouse team. You'll be analytical with a keen eye for detail. You will have strong stock control skills and a passion for developing teams.

The warehouse supervisor / manager is responsible for:

  • ORGANISING AND COORDINATING WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS - Establishing and maintaining effective processes and procedures to ensure that products are stored and despatched, and that goods are receipted and distributed in an accurate and efficient manner.

  • Unloading deliveries and completing goods intake paperwork;

  • Checking for damaged or missing items;

  • Storing goods appropriately both on and off-site;

  • Picking and packing orders for dispatch;

  • Preparing packaging for despatch;

  • Ordering pallets;

  • Moving stock around either by hand, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck (if licenced)

  • Loading trucks with goods for dispatch;

  • Detailing what orders are required to be placed for ingredients and packaging;

  • Delivering materials to production in compliance with production standards;

  • Completing documentation regarding stock and inventory;

  • Keeping accurate stock records, carrying out daily and weekly stock counts, and as required;

  • Keeping all paperwork up to date;

  • Carrying out waste management procedures for food, general waste and cardboard; ensuring effective recycling

  • Recommending changes that improve efficiency and add value.

  • Applying experience and logic;

  • Demonstrating excellent team working skills and collaborate effectively at all times;

  • Working accurately and methodically, planning and organising work effectively.

  • Complying with the Health & Safety Act 1974 and resultant regulations and codes of practice and follow site security policy and procedures.

  • SUPERVISING PEOPLE - Engaging and supporting warehouse employees, and developing a high performing warehouse team, who are committed to the delivery of the warehouse operation whilst supporting their colleagues in other areas of the operation and production;

  • FINANCIAL CONTROL, QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE - Controlling the cost of distribution within agreed budgets including equipment efficiencies, waste, direct labour, and materials; ensuring that warehouse operations are delivered cost-effectively, and in line with quality standards, regulation and legislation.


  • A forklift truck licence is desirable but not essential for this role

    You'll be based on-site at our Bakery in Harthill, located between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

    This is a full time (40 hours) role working Monday - Thursday . Our core hours are 6am - 6pm and flexibility will be required between these hours.

  • Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)

  • Food Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence (preferred)
