Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Telecoms Operator you will be carrying out maintenance, inspection, supervision and installation tasks across the National Grid Telecoms network. You'll be results driven, to ensure our National Grid Telecoms teams and customers receive excellent support and service.

The work will involve working along and away from the depot. The working environment requires quick, decisive and responsible actions to meet the demands of the role. You will have challenging targets and will need to be flexible in your approach. You will:

Respond to enquiries, both verbally and in writing from Telecoms team members or from Customers.
Operate and maintain the National Grid Telecoms Support mailbox system.
Administer various databases supporting National Grid Telecoms.
Provide administration and support to the National Grid Telecoms teams.

To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A

  • ) or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects, such as Functional Skills., The Ideal CandidateYou must be able to communicate effectively both verbally, and in writing, with customers and other team members and must be able to represent the company positively at all times.


  • You must be reliable, well organised and be able to work as part of a small team and you must be able to work using your own initiative. Possession of basic keyboard skills is desirable and full training will be given on the applications used.
