Responsibilities:

  • Visiting Music Teachers are asked to write reports on their pupils once every year in the Summer Term.

  • Visiting Teachers organise their own timetables with most pupils' lessons take place on a rotation system.

  • Informal concerts run by visiting teachers which promote performances by their own pupils are most welcome.

  • Visiting Teachers may also be involved in coaching chamber groups.

  • Experienced and dedicated teacher who can inspire students from all backgrounds and disciplines

  • A natural communicator with an infectious love for their subject

  • High level of interpersonal skills who can work as part of a team and build successful relationships with pupils and parents.

  • An organised person who can keep accurate records of their work and their pupils' progress.


  • What we are offering:
  • The post is a self-employed one, the School offers 'facilities to teach' and there is a small rental charge for the room per year.

  • From September 2024, the rate for instrumental/vocal tuition will be £275 for ten individual 30-minute lessons. The rate for directing an ensemble will be £68.00 per hour.

  • There is also a concert fee for rehearsing and directing a group in a concert (£122)and there are opportunities for assisting with orchestral/band rehearsals on an occasional basis.

  • Any extra professional playing or singing work at the School currently receives a fee of £122 for a short rehearsal and concert.

  • Free lunch and refreshments during term time
