Full Job Description

  • Booking raw material deliveries into the factory, updating online record spreadsheet/ system.

  • Ensure material storage is maintained to a high standard

  • Ensure that the mini warehouse is controlled and at 100% accuracy at all times

  • Carrying out test samples on raw materials

  • Ensuring the mixing area is at a high level of cleanliness at all times.

  • Ensuring all equipment is at a high level of cleanliness at all times.

  • Mixing of all required product for the production lines.

  • Carrying out quality checks on finish mixes.

  • Monthly stock checks of raw materials and mixes.

  • Operating the blending mixer, shredder and granulating machine (to re-cycle materials)

  • Cover the Team Leader in periods of absence.

  • Continuous improvement of processes within the mixing area.

  • Ensure that mixing equipment is properly maintained.

  • Driving safety, quality and output within the mixing area.

  • Ensure that all raw material deliveries are sampled, checked and placed into stock

  • Inventory & Stock takes (weekly & monthly)

  • Supporting the Operations Manager with business improvement

  • Track inventory levels through cycle counting

  • Booking finished material deliveries into factory, updating online record spreadsheet/ system

  • Quality checking all locally manufactured and received finished boards from suppliers and reporting results to Operations Manager

  • Pack orders as per orders List

  • Liaise with Technical Customer Service team on all shipments

  • Ensure all housekeeping is carried to keep areas clean and tidy

    2+ years experience as a setter/operator/ Team Leader.

  • You must be a good problem solver and show lots of initiative.

  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge in all aspects of warehousing, paying good attention to stock accuracy, customer service and labour efficiency.

  • Confident in supervising a team when required and identifying when support is needed.

  • Must demonstrate previous experience of Continuous Improvement, Change Management ideas, 5S and Kiazen.

  • You must be used to working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • You will be used to working in a safety-first environment

  • You will be a self-starter - with the ability to manage your own workload

  • Computer literacy:

  • Essential: MS Office, Word, Excel, outlook and experience of using MRP systems.

  • GCSE min C level English and Maths is required

  • You must be flexible and adaptable, willing to perform other duties as and when required - we're small and not defined by our job titles

  • Flexibility to working various shift patterns to meet the business needs.

  • A quality first mind set.

  • You must be target driven and orientated.

  • This role requires quite a bit of lifting so you will need to be in good physical condition and happy to manually handle heavy products on a daily basis.

  • Having Forklift experience counterbalance and reach is essential.

  • Salary: £25,000 pa basic.

  • Company pension contribution

  • 29 days holiday inclusive of statutory bank holidays

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Thu 7:45am - 4:15pm, Fri 07:45am-1:45pm

  • Shift work once volume has increased with a 15% shift premium.
