Full Job Description

You will be the Deputy Manager and will be room based and enjoy being with and teaching the children. You will deputise for the Nursery Manager and receive full training for the Manager role so you are competent in your position in the absence of the Nursery Manager. You will be in charge in the absence of the Nursery Manager in the running of the day to day of the setting.

You will be the face of the nursery to our parents and have excellent relationships with them ensuring they are kept happy and lead your class to an outstanding level to deliver exceptional care and early years curriculum whilst entrenching the ethos of the nursery as an inclusive environment that supports and develops the whole child. The Directors currently carry some of larger admin processes required of a Deputy / Nursery Manager such as the bookings, payroll, safer recruitment, accounts etc. In the absence of the Manager you will be in charge of the day to day running of the setting and ensuring the two classes are in ratio at all times and are operating at a good standard at all times.

The role would be delivered through working in the room being a key worker, modelling how to run the room, supporting the team with the addition of time out for deputy managerial duties.

The Nursery Manager has the overall responsibility for the day to day oversight of safeguarding, health and safety practices and child protection in the setting and maintaining accurate and up to date systems and records.

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious and experienced Deputy Manager or Room Leader who wants to become a Room Deputy Nursery Manager whilst working room based in the room with children being a key worker and leading your staff team through your example., Full and relevant minimum level 3 qualification or above (essential).

-EYPP/EYTT or QTS post-graduate status (Desirable).

-12 hours paediatric first aid (Desirable).

- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (Desirable)., Proven experience of solely managing an early years setting with successful management leading to 'Good or better' regulatory inspection outcomes.

-Strong decision-maker, with the proven ability to support change; a secure understanding of the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within a regulated setting, with the ability to follow guidelines and work with others to achieve success.

The successful post holder's remuneration package is comprised of a competitive salary, company benefits., Salary: Between £26,000 - £30,000 per annum dependant on qualification, experience and hours. The Nursery is open 51 weeks of the year (closed on Bank holidays and Christmas) Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm. The ideal candidate would be available to work 5 days full time between 8am - 6pm doing either 40 or 45 hours per week. Other days/hours may be considered.
