Full Job Description

  • Greet and welcome visitors in a courteous and professional manner

  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department

  • Manage the reception area, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness

  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk

  • Receive and sort daily mail and deliveries

  • Perform various administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and data entry

  • Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings

  • Handle inquiries and provide information to clients and visitors, This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

    We are currently seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a pleasant demeanor, and the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Basic salary of between £24,040 and £25,002 pro rata


  • Annual leave allowance of 27 to 29 days after 5 years service (plus bank holidays and an extra day off at Christmas)
