Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Technology Innovation you will work on various innovation projects and be responsible for ensuring delivery against set milestones.,

  • Nurture high level, professional relationships with external suppliers and vendors.

  • Focus on servicing mid and long term material and process developments.

  • Triage bugs, assign priorities, and collaborate with engineering stakeholders to roll out production level improvements.

  • Mechanical and electrical design and testing of systems.

  • Devising and completing experiments contributing to technology improvement.

  • Horizon scanning suitable technology to feed into mid and long term development strategy.

  • Assessing and investigating feasibility of new technologies and ideas.

  • Communicate results, conclusions and recommendations to internal and external audiences.

  • Participate in general knowledge/technology transfer within the team which are typically in the form of team meetings or informal updates.

  • Work with more experienced team members, participate in team meetings with product owners/business partners to learn the process of defining requirements.

    Degree or equivalent experience in engineering preferably with exposure to both electrical and mechanical disciplines.

  • Relevant experience within a research and development role.

  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate progress.

  • Good attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent team-working skills and experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Experience producing design documentation ideally using CAD software packages.

  • Knowledge of engineering processes for configuration management, design and maintenance.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Good time management.

  • Salary, starting from £31,628.

  • Competitive, discretionary profit share scheme.

  • Full-time, permanent position.

  • 37.5 hours per week, 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday.
