Full Job Description

The role is intended to provide support for the Quality Manager/QA Supervisor in the following areas:

  • Maintain and manage the Quality function on shift.

  • Ensuring proper operation of the Manufacturing Facility at Witham from a Quality perspective.

  • Documentation verification and control.

  • Ensuring facility compliance with the policies and procedures detailed in the site QMS.


  • MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Production documentation verification checks.

  • GMP and H&H audits.

  • Checkweigher checks.

  • Finished product sealing integrity checks.

  • Daily Equipment and Procedural Checks, (Scales, Knives, Metal Detectors, Finished product weights).

  • Hygiene/Allergen swab testing after cleaning down and record keeping.

  • Printing labels on request.

  • Uploading programmes to the lines.

  • Fridge temperature monitoring.

  • Manage sample collection.

  • Oversee the Positive Release system to ensure all products dispatched from the facility are within customer specification.

  • Implement Insect Lure program to include monitoring, record keeping and trap replacements as per procedures.

  • Conduct customer and supplier relationships in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Raise Corrective Action Requests.

  • Collect traceability documents.

  • Help production with technical queries.

  • Other business needs.

    The incumbent could be expected to deputise for the Quality Supervisor in a number of situations, including inspections by customers or regulatory bodies, and will normally play a key role in preparing for such inspections. The Quality function at Community Foods is very much a team-based operation, so it will be expected that the incumbent will work with and assist technical colleagues to achieve the overall goals of the department. The incumbent should be prepared to undertake such extra tasks as reasonably requested by the Quality Manager.

    · Food manufacturing experience (preferred in QC/QA role).
