Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Norwich team as an Operations Manager. This role will work closely with the site's General Manager, and be responsible for all day-to-day operations, overseeing both the greenhouse and packhouse.,

  • To ensure compliance and practical application of health and safety policies and legislation, whilst developing/ maintaining a strong health and safety culture.

  • To complete all routine health and safety checks.

  • To deliver site inductions.

  • To maintain and update health and safety documents and train our employees against risk assessments/SSOW.

  • To manage site ordering, seeking cost efficiencies.

  • To manage all site facilities, ensuring operational excellence through cleanliness and site tidiness, including the canteen facilities.

  • To manage transport for our employees.

  • To communicate with our accommodation site regarding arrivals and leavers.

  • To support the site with any operational tasks as they occur.

    have an IOSH or NEBOSH managing safely (or equivalent) qualification

  • are flexible to work on Saturdays on rotation with the General Manager. The role will be 5 days per week

  • are organised and able to prioritise workload effectively

  • are a good communicator with excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • are self-motivated

  • have a high level of attention to detail.

    We've always been at the forefront of reducing environmental impact, whether that is using bumblebees for production or taking care of every drop of water we use. At our nurseries in Norwich and Ely, we've become one of the first growers to use waste heat from water treatment plants and reservoirs, reducing our carbon footprint by up to 60%. We now account for nearly 20% of tomatoes and 25% of cucumbers grown in the UK!
