Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen at our Kemsley Paper Mill based in Kent, we are currently seeking highly motivated and ambitious individual as Operations Improvement Engineer.

You will be reporting into the Technical Department but strongly allied with all Operational areas of the Mill working on various improvement projects with a primary focus on the optimisation of existing programmes and development of new technologies to enhance mill performance as part of a small team of Operations Improvement Engineers.

You will also support operational areas with the development and implementation of improvement plans using continuous improvement techniques. Working closely with the Projects team on the operational aspects of project including design, scope, implementation and handover to improve long term project outcome.

This role will work closely with the Group Manufacturing & R&D teams to support trial and roll out of projects. As a superuser of our online process data tool (Wedge), develop it's utilisation as a process monitoring tool, putting together training programs specific to roles within the operations teams.

  • Engineering or Technical Degree or Paper Industry specific qualifications and experience.

  • Good knowledge of the papermaking process or chemical engineering background.

  • Strong understanding of Lean principles ideally with a recognised qualification.

  • Experience of leading and implementing improvement projects

  • Ability to adapt and develop applications to find new solutions to operational challenges.
