Full Job Description
- Be at the very heart of the Council, working with Elected Members and colleagues across Council and South Tyneside Homes departments, to support residents with requests for information.
- 'Own' an enquiry from start to end, ensuring customers receive a timely and full response to their questions.
- Operate within a political environment, in a non-political way, ensuring that you respect Elected Members of all parties and backgrounds.
- Have the support of a great team around you who will provide training and development to help you hit the ground running.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Empathy and good customer service skills.
- A professional telephone manner.
- A commitment to providing an outstanding service.
- Ensure confidentiality is always maintained, respecting each customer as an individual.
- Manage expectations of customers, often in challenging situations - a calm demeanour and ability to work under pressure is essential.
- Support team members in the wider Civic and Members Support Office - this may include working outside of usual working hours, so a flexible approach is essential.
