Full Job Description

Kensa is a fast moving and dynamic company and the IT department reflects this. The role of IT Support Technician is shaped to support the wide and varied needs of the Kensa Group.

You will be part of a small but growing team providing technical support to all companies within the Kensa Group, supporting users in our 3 offices and those working from home.

The issues we face are widespread and varied. From preparing and testing equipment for new employees to fault finding with the test equipment in our factory, no two days are the same.

You will be based at our offices in Chacewater, Truro or Clyst St. Mary, Exeter with the opportunity to work from home on occasion.

We are looking for a positive, outgoing character, who is good with people and willing to learn.,

  • Being an initial point of contact for any users with IT issues

  • Dealing with first line support tasks and escalating where appropriate

  • Setting up new users and replacement equipment

  • Supporting the wider team with IT related project work

  • Selecting and purchasing IT equipment

    Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to speak to all levels of user

  • Patience and the ability to talk in a non technical fashion

  • Organised with the abliity to prioritise you workload

  • Accurate with the desire to dot the I's and cross the T's

  • A working knowledge of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office


  • Characteristics;

    - A great capacity for task follows through and attention to detail. Accurate, logical, analytical, a 'factfinder', you are precise, and a thorough problem solver. You are innovative and forward thinking, driven by results. You are open to and enjoy ideation, quick learning, adaptable, and not averse to change. You are a strong critical listener and work well as part of a team as well as autonomously.,
  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred), Technical support: 1 year (preferred)

  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

    The Kensa Group is the leading manufacturer and installer of ground source heat pumps and is poised for rapid growth. Octopus Energy and Legal and General Capital invested £70m in 2023 to enable the business to rapidly grow and install 50,000 heat pumps a year by 2030. This will drive down the costs of heat pumps and reduce reliance on polluting gas boilers.

    This investment will make heat pumps even more accessible to more properties, including retrofits for social housing, terraced housing, and non-domestic buildings. It will also enable Kensa to offer house builders, housing associations, and non-domestic customers their 'Networked Heat Pumps' solutions at a lower cost. This effectively creates a new renewable asset class, kick-starting a sector that could exceed £1bn by 2030.

    What Kensa has to offer;

    Competitive salary £24,000 - £26,000

    Uncapped bonus scheme
    (Company performance related pay plan with an OTE of 112% of base salary).
