Full Job Description

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that standardised methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all Changes, in order to minimise the impact of Change-related incidents upon service quality, and consequently to improve the day-to-day operations of the organisation.

This is an on-site role based at the Leigh Hospital Site but working across any of the Trust locations if required.

Additionally, the post holder would be responsible for all Change Management activities, to include new business change planning, Change Advisory Board (CAB), the production of management information, Request for Changes and a change schedule.

The post holder will also be responsible for Change Management team members both professionally and managerially; ensuring tasks delegated are managed appropriately and within timescales.

  • To refine and enhance the scope of the Change Management processes and function

  • To take responsibility for all aspects of the Request for Change process with all sections of IM&T and Trust departments

  • To investigate and resolve specialist or highly complex technical issues and faults occurring in hardware and software - especially those requiring advanced expertise

  • To ensure new systems are fully documented as part of the acceptance through the Change Management process, in accordance with computer industry techniques and standards and, in accordance with specific guidance from National, Regional or Trust Standards

  • To give advanced technical guidance to Team Leaders and other members of IM&T staff

  • To control and monitor all system changes within the Trust to ultimately ensure full compatibility with existing systems and architecture. Ensuring that no operational systems are negatively impacted by the introduction of new systems or hardware, upgrades to existing systems or hardwar

  • To project manage the implementation of all Changes within the scope of Change Management within IM&T and their impact on the whole of the Trust


  • To lead changes of culture, approach, systems and processes within IM&T, as a result of which at all levels of the department and within other directorates retain "ownership" of processes and see them as a positive contribution to their work

  • To be responsible for all Change Management activities, to include new business planning, Change Advisory Board (CAB), the production of management information, Request for Changes and a change schedul

  • Identify and recommend value for money technical solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT Infrastructure ensuring that new developments are compatible with the Trust's existing infrastructure and IM&T Strategic plans and provide detailed project plans to accomplish successful introduction of new specialized technologies

  • Undertake project management duties as required in accordance to Trust methodologie

  • To be the main lead of maintaining the IT Services web pages on the Trust Intranet including developing and adapting complex web pages and reports and to be the main point of contact for any Intranet related development issues that arise from other department
