Full Job Description

The Privacy, Transparency & Trust (PTT) Sub-directorate is a sub-directorate of the Delivery Directorate. The mission of the PTT Sub-directorate is to enable NHS England to drive innovation and improve lives through greater use of data and technology and to be a well-run organisation. The PTT Sub-directorate will enable and promote public trust in NHS England's custodianship of staff, workforce and patient data. This aligns with the new legal duty of NHS England to have regard to the need to respect and promote privacy of patients and the core principles that underpin NHS England as a safe haven of patient data.

The Records Management team are a central function in PTT setting policy, standards and procedures across the organisation enabling NHSE to comply with our obligations under the Public Records Act, IG law and good practice.

The Information Governance Officer (Records Management) will work within Privacy, Transparency and Trust to support a dynamic and high-achieving team to deliver highly effective, well-coordinated records management service across NHS England.The Information Governance Officer (Records Management) provides supports the record management team within the IG Delivery (Digital and Ops team) in the PTT Sub-directorate.

The IG Officer (RM) will work as part of a dynamic team delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the organisation to increase awareness of Information Governance and Records Management and embed good practice.You willsupportthe IG Lead (RM)in ensuring adherence to IGpolicies throughout NHS Englandandsupport the provision of an efficient, effective, professional, and well-co-ordinated records management service.

  • Undertake the administration of the records management system for manual and electronic records.

  • Work to optimise the system in response to user feedback.

  • Coordinate and administer the RMCo-Ordinators Bi-Monthly Group

  • Work with NHS England staff to ensureRMpolicies, standards, and guidelines, including records retention schedules, are kept up to date and implemented effectively.

  • EnsureRMpracticescomply withrelevant legislation and regulations such as FOI, Data Protection and Public Records Act.

  • Promote awareness and use of records and information management services throughout NHS England through presentations, intranet, workshops, and publications.

  • Undertake Records Managementand IGtraining relating to the post.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities within the Privacy, Transparency and Trust Sub-directorate,commensuratewith the grading and responsibilities of the post.

  • Support the Records Management Team to ensure that our work is planned, managed, and delivered effectively.
