High-performance Compute (HPC) Systems / Network Architect

Finchetto is seeking an experienced HPC Network Architect to join its team. As Network Architect Engineer at Finchetto, you will play a crucial role in designing an optimised network. Finchetto is writing custom control-plane software, as Network Architect, you will be interfacing with software engineers to deliver information on requirements and flow-control designs for Finchetto's passive optical network. Working within a dynamic team, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge products that will shape the future of networking.

Responsibilities:

· Design an optimised network topology for a passive Finchetto optical network.

· Interface with software engineers during a software build and deliver requirements on functionality and flow-control.

· Understand and represent Finchetto's technology from a network architecture perspective.

· Work in a team on a technical project of software development.

· Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to convey technical insights and project progress.

· Experience in working with existing NIC vendors (Broadcom, Intel, or others).

· Experience and knowledge in control-level requirements, such as flow-control.

· Experience with a variety of SFP types, such as SFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD and others.

· Experience in designing computing networks, capacity planning, flow-control and topology optimisation.

· Familiarity with developing software and drivers for security.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

· Solid understanding of NICs and standards such as ethernet and InfiniBand.

· In-depth knowledge of common protocols across multiple network layers, such as VLAN, VXLAN, Clos architectures and others.

· Strong understanding of low-level data structures, such as ethernet frames.

· Strong understanding of flow-control requirements, such as packet sizes, packet priority and others.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
