Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Head of Aero Performance and Correlation to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role, you will have key responsibility for measuring and reporting aerodynamic performance leading to improvements to the Aero department's CFD and Wind Tunnel simulation tools.   • Management and Responsibility for the Aero Performance & Aero Correlation Teams

  • Coordination and analysis of Track, Wind Tunnel, CFD as well as DIL data to drive forward performance methodologies and correlation.

  • Ensure lap time gains calculated from the Aero department's simulation tools translate faithfully to DIL and Track.

  • Define DIL experiments to understand aero performance sensitivities and how this should influence performance part selection.

  • Highlight correlation deficiencies between Track, Wind Tunnel and CFD to improve the Aero department's simulation tools.

  • Use aero performance and correlation analysis during track sessions to deliver timely conclusions to Race Engineering and Aero departments.

  • Develop good relationships with other engineer groups (vehicle performance, race engineering)

  • Provide pre/during/post event simulation studies to optimize track performance.

  • Develop methods and tools for the Aero Performance group.

  • Provide a flexible attendance and attitude to work, in line with the requirements for the role and specific project requirements.

    Has a minimum 12 years' relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.

  • An excellent understanding of aerodynamics is required, with a keen attention to detail and must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong knowledge of developing simulation tools.

  • Good coding skills in a mathematical language (MATLAB, Python, C++)

  • Well versed with experimental aerodynamic testing techniques.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.

  • Ability to line manage / lead teams effectively.

  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.

  • Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.

  • Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
