Full Job Description

West Midlands Pension Fund is recruiting for a Governance Manager to join our continually growing and developing Governance, Risk and Assurance Team. Our brand-new offices are based at the i9 building in Wolverhampton, the West Midlands Pension Fund is an excellent location for transport links by car, bus, train and tram.

We have a modern office environment that offers a relaxed working atmosphere with study and breakout areas, meeting rooms and kitchens with free tea and coffee making facilities. There are also cloakrooms, bike stores, showers and lockers available.

What the day will look like

responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with and providing support to the Fund's Governing Body members, including elected members, trade union and employer representatives who sit on the Fund's Pensions Committee and the Local Pensions Board (further information on which is available here: Governance | West Midlands Pension Fund (wmpfonline.com) ).

  • The management, coordination, and delivery of Governing Body meetings, including the preparation of meeting agendas and papers which meet statutory requirements for both Pensions Committee (a Section 101 Committee) and Local Pensions Board.

  • Responsibility for the development and implementation of the Fund's Governing Body training program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance.

  • Playing a lead role in ensuring the Fund's compliance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation, including the management and co-ordination of responses to Data Protection Subject Access and Freedom of Information Requests.

  • Working with relevant Service Arears to ensure that statutory policies are reviewed and adopted as required in accordance with a recognised review program.

  • Designing and delivering employee training relevant to areas of responsibility.
