Freight Forwarding Apprentice - Gateway Geodis FF United Kingdom Ltd

Freight Forwarding Activities:

• Operations activities mainly connect to Air and Road freight movement


• Working closely with internal and external customers


• Use of Cargowise operations system


• Invoicing and job costing


• Customs entries


• Assist in all aspects of the operation where / when required


• Focus on customer service


• Regular customer communication and involvement in meetings and business reviews


• Ensuring all reports including internal and customer specific are completed within the deadline


• Resolving queries from customers and suppliers


• Operate within companies QA system


• Any other tasks as directed by their Supervisor or Line Manager


• Admin as required


• Ensure Best Practice models are adopted throughout the department


• All other tasks as requested by management within reasonable scope of the role / department responsibilities or UK Operation


Specific Gateway Department Activities:

• Raise Air Import / Export records and other documentation in relevant company systems


• Manage the flow of consignments departing and arriving our facility


• Co-ordinate vehicles collecting from and delivering to the airlines


• Co-ordinating requirements linked to securing Airline space and rate negotiation


• Consignment status checks with airline and reporting requirements


• Completing export customs entries


• Costing activities


• Planning aircraft loads, Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships. English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3


• Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training


• Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop


• Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities


• Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps
