Full Job Description

As a Forklift Driver at Cardiff Galvanizers & Galvablast, you'll play an important role in our operations, facilitating the smooth handling and movement of customer metal work within our galvanizing and powder coating plants. Operating within a variable shift system, you'll rotate through three operating shifts,

  • Receiving, unloading, and checking customer metal work, ensuring accuracy and adherence to paperwork.

  • Organising and tagging customer goods according to our tagging system for efficient tracking and management.

  • Transporting materials within the site, maintaining an organised yard and following tagging procedures.

  • Loading vehicles for delivery, conducting final quality checks to ensure accuracy and minimise risks.

  • Performing first and last quality inspections to uphold our commitment to quality standards.

    Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a steelworks environment.

  • Valid forklift license.

  • Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturday mornings.

  • Capability to lift up to 20 kg and stand/walk for extended periods.

We also provide nationwide collection and delivery services through our fleet of HGVs, ensuring convenience and accessibility for our valued customers across the UK.

    Week 1: Days (Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:45 pm)

  • Week 2: Nights (Sunday night to Thursday night, 8:00 pm - 4:45 am)

  • Week 3: Nights (Monday night to Thursday night, 4:30 pm - 6:00 am), Starting pay of £12.61 per hour.

  • Opportunity for enhanced pay based on performance after a 3-month performance appraisal.

  • Monthly department bonus based on tonnage.
