This role is to join the Business Fire Safety (Protection) Team as either a fire safety inspector if the relevant qualifications are held, or as a Fire Safety Advisor/Fire Safety Auditor with the view of progressing towards a Fire Safety Inspector once the relevant qualifications have been obtained.

Fire Safety Advisor : £27,803 - £30,296 per annum / Fire Safety Auditor : £30,825 - £33,945 per annum

To undertake a wide range of duties relating to the delivery of fire safety, through the provision of advice, and support enforcement of legislation relating to fire safety. This role is a career grade. Post holders may progress through from Advisor to Auditor to Inspector as they gain the relevant qualifications.

Fire Safety Inspector : £34,834 - £38,223 per annum

To undertake a wide range of duties relating to the delivery of fire safety, through the provision of advice, consultation and enforcement of legislation relating to fire safety and investigation matters.

About The Role

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service is looking for professional, highly motivated individuals with a drive for excellence to join our Protection Team as a Fire Safety Inspector.

The Protection team is looking to expand in order to deliver programmes, such as the Building Risk Review and the Risk Based Inspection Programmes.

About You

The successful candidate will be working within the Protection team to make a difference within the communities we serve.

In the role of a Fire Safety Inspector, you will be expected to carry out inspections of premises throughout the county, to enforce relevant fire safety legislation, provide fire safety advice and guidance through inspection and investigations within business premises. Effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills are essential in this role, due to the varied audiences. You will also be required to have a high level of written communication skills sufficient to write complex reports.

The successful applicant will possess or are working towards a Level 3 Certificate and level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent qualifications), or are willing to complete both qualifications within the role.

This role will include travel throughout Gloucestershire, so access to a vehicle would be required however a Service vehicle may be available within the team through our booking sheet.
