Full Job Description

The Nutrition Finance function sits across both the commercial and financial reporting structures at THG. A unique function offering the opportunity to business partner across all areas of the division helping to drive trading performance and profitability, support growth and innovation as well as delivering strong financial control and reporting.,

  • Financial control and ownership of divisional month end processes across all offerings including Myprotein

  • Building out and owning the overall Nutrition consolidation and group accounts post business separation

  • Commercial reporting and analysis; driving and challenging all aspects of the P&L, delivering key profit improvement and working capital initiatives

  • Budgeting and Forecasting both in month and on a rolling 12 month view to assist the business in future planning and driving performance

  • Assisting with longer term strategic projects including leading international expansion from a financial compliance perspective

  • Business partnering across all areas of the business from supply chain to trading & marketing ensuring investments deliver sustainable and profitable growth

  • Overall running of the day to day finance function including managing a team of up to 25

  • Comfortable to challenge and review spend approvals to ensure all costs deliver incremental benefit to the business

  • A strong attention to detail to ensure a tightly controlled balance sheet is delivered consistently, reviewing the wider team's work

  • A keen ability to multi-task across a number of areas and manage both their own and the teams time effectively

  • An ability to communicate with wider finance functions outside of the division, including group, tax, treasury etc, to ensure all relevant information is provided and received for reporting purposes

  • A collaborative approach to working with the wider divisional finance team including commercial, to assist with reporting and profit delivery, and SSC, to ensure a tightly controlled working capital cycle


  • Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACA) with at least 5 years PQE

  • Ability to effectively communicate with and manage Senior Stakeholders

  • Experience leading and developing an ambitious team

  • Planning and organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines

  • A confident mindset, comfortable in dealing with a wide range of key stakeholders.

  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment

  • Proven, hands-on experience of management reporting in a large and complex business.

  • Extensive business partnering & cost accounting experience


  • Soft skills:
  • Deep analytical mindset, coupled with the ability to distil data into value-adding information

  • Strong influencing and communication skills to hold impactful conversations with senior stakeholders

  • Strong presentation skills, both data presentation and oral articulation

  • Strong data handling skills to deliver clear, structured reporting and analysis from source systems


  • Other skills & experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience including operating in similar roles that have had board-level experience and exposure.

  • Experience of operating within a large, fast moving business, (Nutrition / Wellness / Ecommerce experience desirable), bringing the ability to empathise with their approach and thought processes, and to pre-empt requests and needs.

  • Strong skills in data and presentational tools including Excel and Powerpoint.
