Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Autolus EHS team as an EHS Business Partner, reporting to the Associate Director, EHS. Based at our new manufacturing facility in Stevenage, the EHS Business Partner is pivotal in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal EHS management system requirements. The EHS Business Partner will work closely with all teams to develop a positive EHS culture and provide support, guidance and advice to ensure risks are managed in line with regulations, standards and best practice.,

  • Working alongside the EHS team, the EHS Business Partner shall develop and implement the companies' EHS management system.

  • Create and collaborate on EHS policies, procedures and processes.

  • Ensure accidents, incidents, near-misses and safety observations are recorded, investigated and any corrective or preventative actions are implemented.

  • Work closely with the engineering and facilities teams in the management of contractors e.g. Review RAMS, PQQ, PtW etc.

  • Provide EHS guidance and support to all areas of the business including production and projects.

  • Conduct or organise relevant EHS training for staff as required, including first aid and fire safety. Job Title EHS Business Partner Reports to Associate Director, EHS Department Engineering Hours 35 Location Stevenage

  • Support, arrange or conduct required risk assessments e.g. general RA, COSHH, Manual Handling etc.

  • Carry out internal EHS workplace inspections and audits; report on findings and manage corrective and preventative actions through to completion.

  • Ensure robust emergency plans are in place and are effective.

  • Co-ordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives for the site.

  • Establish and contribute as a key member of the EHS Committee

  • Identify areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance. Arrange such training/certification once identified.

  • Identify and mitigate the sites environmental aspects and impacts.

  • Develop and support sustainability objectives and environmental reporting.

  • Keep up to date with changes in current EHS legislation and implement such changes where relevant and bring to the attention of the Senior Leadership Team.

  • Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation.

  • Any other ad hoc EHS duties as required.

    Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role/environment - E

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the business - E

  • Experience of working in a GxP environment - P

  • Good understanding of COSHH including Biosafety - P

  • Experience in working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment - P, NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent level 3 health and safety qualification - E

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent level 6 health and safety qualification - P

  • Technical Member of IOSH (TechIOSH) or above - E

  • Associate Member of IEMA (AIEMA) or above - P

  • ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Internal Auditor - P
