Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Nursery Assistant to join our team., As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged between 0-5 years old. You will work closely with our experienced team of childcare professionals to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and grow., We understand working for a local authority is more than just a job. This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role., The ideal candidate will possess enthusiasm, passion, and dedication. You will be able to demonstrate reliability and patience, along with the ability to work independently while under the guidance of your room lead. Confidence in using initiative is essential. Familiarity with the EYFS framework is required, and experience working with children aged 6 months to 4 years, as well as familiarity with 'In the Moment Planning', is preferred but not mandatory.,

  • Relevant Level 2/3 Childcare/Early Years qualification preferable.

  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or similar setting.

  • Knowledge of early years curriculum frameworks and best practices in childcare and education.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

  • A compassionate and nurturing approach to working with children, coupled with a genuine passion for their well-being and development.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

    Early Birds Nursery is one of three North Somerset Council nurseries, based in Long Ashton close to Bristol.
