Full Job Description

We have an opportunity within Aramark UK for a seasoned, commercially astute Director of Operations. This is a regional role supporting a portfolio of successful Independent Schools, Healthcare and Education sites.

Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director, the role holder will manage and coach their teams and will be responsible for nurturing and growing them. They'll be responsible for ensuring that the highest standard of service is delivered to our Clients. The successful candidate will positively collaborate with other internal stakeholders to deliver our company commitments, embed our mission/vision/values and to build a culture of recognition and engagement within their region.

The ideal candidate will need to be based in the Midlands/ North and will be able to commit to five days a week on site.,

  • Support our growth agenda whilst delivering market leading operational excellence to the client

  • Responsible for executing operational delivery to agreed company standards

  • Accountable for the business commercial performance, through proactive strategic planning and value propositions

  • Accountable for employee engagement and talent management

  • Collaborative relationship with Finance, Business Development, HR, L&D and UK Client Key Account Director

  • Maximise contract retention and upselling in area of responsibility

  • To help directly shape the customer's agenda and position Aramark/the Education sector as a strategic partner

  • Lead the operational team by example in the consistent delivery of performance in the sector, demonstrating commitment to our values and objectives

  • Proactively look for and execute ideas and projects to improve the client, customer and team experience

  • To motivate/lead a team to achieve great results, targets and develop teams and successors

  • We pride ourselves on having genuine internal and external relationships, this role is very much about building new and maintaining long term relationships with relevant stakeholders in the accounts and engaging with new audiences

  • Support implementation of food programmes to include master the menu, production, waste and supply chain

  • Act as a role model for people management processes, ensuring they are followed to clarify objectives, actively manage performance and develop skills

  • Ensure direct reports understand business strategy and the customer requirements and drive operational and financial performance through effective performance management

  • Understand contractual requirements and ensure adherence to the company's contractual responsibilities and internal quality procedures including management reporting, development, budget, forecasting and financial control

    Operating at Account Director level or equivalent in contract catering or hospitality

  • Experience within independent schools or education is essential

  • Proven track record of managing a P&L

  • Strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to manage cross functional relationships

  • Ability to lead a team to success whilst managing and supporting change

  • Ability to manage in a result driven environment with proven commercial experience

  • Organisational and time management skills

  • Commitment to execute operations through process orientation, standard operational procedures, and best practice

  • Self - motivated & driven

  • Can demonstrate good people leadership

  • Selects and develops talented teams

  • Effective communication skills; oral, written, presentation, influencing and negotiation

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

  • Solves problems and actively seeks solid and sustainable solutions
