Full Job Description

Charles Taylor TPA is looking to enhance its growth by recruiting a claims handler to handle CT TPA claims, from the first notification of loss through selection and appointment of experts to the final adjustment and settlement of the claim under the supervision of the Claims Manager or other claims adjuster as appropriate.,

  • Receive and triage first notification of loss

  • Liaise with brokers and underwriters.

  • Appoint surveyors, lawyers and other experts in order to progress claims within a delegated authority or with the agreement of lead underwriters if exceeded.

  • Collect all documents in relation to claims and consider policy wording and liability of the assured.

  • Contribute to settlement negotiations with insureds and consider possible recoveries from third parties.

  • Participate in regular claims conference calls to discuss claim progression with respective clients.

  • Ensure that appointed experts are given clear instructions regarding scope of works

  • Obtain and agree a pricing structure and estimate of fees

  • Manage experts to ensure adherence to the agreed scope of works

  • Check and approve invoices for payment

  • Ensure that claims management systems are kept factually and financially up to date.

  • Maintain personal timesheets in order that all chargeable time can be billed.

  • Contribute personal fee production with annual budgeted WIP being the minimum target.

  • Actively market the TPA offering to existing and new business contacts with an aim to increase overall business for the company.

    5 years claims experience in either a TPA or Underwriter in Commercial Property.

  • A Level education

  • Comfortable learning bespoke IT systems and working in an electronic/paper free environment

  • Attention to details
