Data Migration Engineer (Dynamics)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Migration Engineer with a strong background in Microsoft Dynamics to join our client's team on a contractual basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing data migration projects from legacy systems to Dynamics 365. This role requires a deep understanding of data migration processes, data integrity, and the Dynamics platform., Data Migration Planning and Strategy:

• Develop comprehensive data migration plans and strategies tailored to project requirements.


• Conduct detailed analysis of source and target systems to understand data structures and dependencies.


Data Mapping and Transformation:

• Design and implement data mapping and transformation processes.


• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and quality throughout the migration process.


Data Extraction, Load, and Transformation (ETL):

• Utilise ETL tools to extract data from legacy systems, transform it to meet Dynamics 365 requirements, and load it into the target system.


• Write and execute complex SQL queries and scripts for data extraction and transformation.


Testing and Validation:

• Perform rigorous data validation and testing to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated data.


• Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct data verification and user acceptance testing (UAT).


Issue Resolution and Optimization:

• Identify and troubleshoot data migration issues, providing timely solutions.


• Optimize data migration processes for efficiency and reliability.


Documentation and Reporting:

• Document data migration processes, methodologies, and lessons learned.


• Provide regular progress reports and updates to project stakeholders.
  
  Proven experience as a Data Migration Engineer, specifically within the Microsoft Dynamics space.


• Experience with Dynamics 365 (CRM and/or ERP) implementations.


Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in ETL tools and techniques.


• Strong SQL skills, including experience with SQL Server.


• Familiarity with data migration tools and frameworks specific to Dynamics 365.


• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data integrity principles.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 certification.


• Experience with Azure Data Factory or other cloud-based data integration tools.


• Knowledge of Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).


• Experience of Kingswaysoft SSIS tools, Data migration: 4 years (required)


• Microsoft Dynamics 365: 4 years (required)
