Police front counter staff are the first point of contact for the public visiting a Police station.

To make a difference in our community you will need good people skills with the ability to remain calm and think logically in challenging situations. You will need to be assertive, have good communication and negotiation skills with an ability to deal with confrontational behaviour balancing this with the ability to be empathetic and understanding of the needs of a victim. The ability to problem solve and make decisions is essential together with the ability to prioritise the needs of the public.

A typical day may include receiving enquiries, recording intelligence or crime reports from the public made wither in person, by telephone or by email. You will be looking after victims and witnesses, managing their expectations and offering support and reassurance to vulnerable people.

You will be trained to use a range of IT systems to create incidents, undertake appropriate checks and will liaise with Police officers and staff from other departments within the Force.

Other day to day work includes documenting notifications from registered sex offenders and receiving and documenting bail signees.

This role is based at Stow on the Wold Police station and we are looking to open Monday - Friday 10:00 - 14:00 hrs
