Full Job Description

Comex 2000 is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Commercial Assistant to join our Commercial Team, based in Derby.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Managers and other staff as required to provide a comprehensive support role. They will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Quantity Surveying requirements allocated to them and to ensure they are carried out diligently and accurately. A professional and confidential manner will be required at all times.

If you are looking for a entry level role with a degree in QS OR Commercial Management with in the Unities / Engineering or Construction sector. This is the role for you!

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the management of day-to-day commercial and contract activities

  • Pricing works using a Schedule of Rates (NEC4 Option B BoQ)

  • Pricing works using activity schedules (NEC4 Option A)

  • Supporting the NEC4 Contract administration

  • Site measuring

  • Compiling Applications for Payment

  • Subcontractor Application for Payment assessment

  • Preparing compensation events

  • Assessment of compensation events from subcontractors

  • Supporting Final accounting

  • Procurement of subcontractors and services

    A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification and/or sufficient experience

  • Ability to undertake site remeasures

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

  • A good working knowledge of the Construction Act

  • Strong excel/IT skills


  • Other preferred skills:
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications infrastructure industry

  • Working knowledge of CEMAR
